Minnesota Whistleblower Law

If you are a whistleblower, it is easy to feel alone.  Fortunately, employees in the State of Minnesota who “blow the whistle” in good faith on their employers for a suspected violation of the law are protected from retaliation, reprisal, or wrongful termination under the Minnesota Whistleblower Act, Minn. Stat. § 181.932.

Minnesota also recently passed the Minnesota False Claims Act, Minn. Stat. § 15C.01, which allows whistleblowers to claim a share of the money recovered when they expose false claims made by contractors to units of government.  In addition, a variety of federal whistleblower statutes such as Sarbanes-Oxley may also protect you if your employer is covered by these laws.

This website focuses exclusively on Minnesota whistleblower protections as well as statutory, regulatory, and case law developments in the area of whistleblower law.  In addition, it answers your Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) concerning Minnesota whistleblower laws and regulations.
